We're really surprised to hear this, because we sell loads of these rings each week and have had no reported problems. The rings are despatched with the segment in the 'closed' position; I can only think that maybe you have accidentally stretched the ring a little too much when opening it, which would result in the two ends not being aligned. This is normal with this type of ring and is easily fixed by gently squeezing the ring with pliers. It's disappointing that you didn't contact us after having problems with your first ring as we would have given you assistance right away.
