When we started the business back in 2008 we offered free samples and free postage. This continued until the end of 2025 when it simply became impossible to continue to offer free postage any longer. To give you an idea, in 2009 it cost us 61p to send a large letter (roughly 6 or 7 samples) whereas now it costs £2.65. Royal Mail have consistently increased prices year on year in the meantime - the 2025 increase was 40%. I hope customers will understand that we had no choice but to start charging for postage therefore. We send all samples by 1st class post. However these days Royal Mail are completely unreliable and the number of samples which don't arrive is ridiculous. We will send samples out again. Tim Kennedy Owner Modelli Fabrics
