As we mentioned in our last correspondence, our labels and website provide all ingredients details so at the point of order you can determine exactly what is in the product prior to purchase. Maltodextrin is not something we add to the formula itself, it is present in the Combocillus raw material. The manufacturer of this raw material uses Pharma grade Maltodextrin to achieve the correct active concentration of bacteria required. Maltodextrin does not interfere with or harm the live cultures and is easier to digest than most carbohydrates. It also improves dispersibility and helps support the shelf-life stability of the raw material.
Whilst other excipients could be considered, such as pectin/stevia, these all report with varying health issues for people, so the maltodextrin formula of combocillus is the best solution currently.
