Glenmorangie Allta

The tenth release in the Private Edition series from Glenmorangie, Allta means 'wild' in Gaelic and takes its title from the wild yeast discovered growing on Glenmorangie's Cadboll barley. Director of Distilling, Dr Bill Lumsden, used this previously unidentified species of yeast to ferment the local barley from which it came. The resulting dram reveals the importance of yeast in the flavour of Scotch whisky.

Another special Glenmorangie, a little different to the normal fair that they produce, lovely citrus notes, vanilla and hint of orange to my palette, definitely one for the shelf and collection
