Simply add this globe to your bag plus one of the 8.5" wooden tripod stands, worth £40, from our selection here and receive the stand for FREE. MOVA Globes are designed to rotate silently on their own, using the power of light and Earths' magnetic field. Click here to see how MOVA Globes work. The Antique Terrestrial White globe combines a vintage map created in 1790 with modern updates that make it unlike any globe you've had before. Every continent and ocean is shown with absolute clarity and contrast, and it features lines showing the three voyages of Captain James Cook a design element first created in 1790 by Giovanni Maria Cassini. The map also shows the United States which was very young at the time and not included on many maps. With its smooth, independent rotations, it's like history comes to life in your home or office. The MG-6-WCT comes with a clear three pronged acrylic stand, however there are more MOVA Globe stands to choose from right here. The White Cassini Terrestrial design is also available in the 5", 6" & 8.5"size. Have any questions about MOVA Globes? The MOVA White Cassini Terrestrial 8.5 Inch Globe is made using advanced technology and assembled by hand. Firstly, advanced mapping software is used to create an accurate, detailed representation of the planet’s surface. This image is then printed onto a thin, flexible film using high-resolution printers. The printing process involves multiple layers to capture the intricate details of the map. The printed film is then carefully applied onto a spherical acrylic shell, creating a dome-shaped surface. The shell is transparent and durable, allowing the internal mechanisms to be seen. The partially assembled globe is filled with a transparent fluid. This fluid helps provide buoyancy and smooth movement for the internal components. A magnet and a metal coil is added inside the MOVA White Cassini Terrestrial 8.5 Inch Globe - these components interact with each other to create the rotational movement. The magnet is usually magnetised with a specific polarity to ensure the desired rotation direction. Once the internal components are in place, the globe is sealed to prevent any leakage of the fluid or air. The sealed globe is then mounted onto a base or stand. The external, acrylic shell then remains stationary while the internal film spins, making the MOVA White Cassini Terrestrial 8.5 Inch Globe a highly captivating product.
