Precious Metal Clay PMC Flex Silver Clay 16.7g

PMC Flex is a brand new addition to the PMC range, and is a new formula designed to lengthen drying time and increase flexibility. This 16.7g pack of PMC Flex has many of the properties and the strength of PMC3, but is more flexible, less sticky, softer and dries more slowly - giving you more time to work on your jewellery designs and allowing you to create finely detailed work without any hairline cracks. Ideal for intricate sculptural work as well as thin strips and coils, PMC Flex enables you to make designs which were not previously possible. It is also perfect for beginners who are new to working with precious metal clay. PMC Flex can also be combined with PMC3, giving you a choice between clays for different elements of your design depending on your needs: a rigid base section of PMC3 which needs to remain sturdy during production can be combined with thinner and more flexible detail elements in PMC Flex. This 16.7g pack of PMC Flex gives a net silver weight of 15g once fired. When torch firing, a soft flame will appear around the piece until the binder has burnt away. When this flame has disappeared, heat the piece to the point where a pale orange glow is visible and keep the piece heated at this colour for 3 minutes. When kiln firing, PMC Flex should be fired in a kiln at 800°C for 30 minutes. Once fired, PMC Flex can be hallmarked as fine silver (.999). Please note, the drying time of PMC Flex is longer than that of other precious metal clays, and care must be taken before firing to ensure that the clay is dry. PMC Flex has a shrinkage rate of approximately 10 - 15%. This is an eco-friendly product, containing recycled silver.
