It was very heavy and I didn’t realise it didn’t have a cover. It only typed half a letter, so maybe the ribbon was old

Although the typewriter is sturdy and looks nice it’s not useable. Lower case letters do not strike the paper correctly and the return carriage does not work properly. Gave up trying to type a letter...
