With a chimney diameter of 300mm an adapter plate was needed. Although the final install is secure and seems to work the plate is much larger than required.

Colt Top Chimney Cowl - Suitable for All Fuel Types
Unfortunately the cowl has not stopped the wind noise. It isn't quite as bad as before but has not completely prevented the sound which we really hoped it would.
