Thank you for your feedback. The vast majority of our orders (95% plus)are delivered within 5 working days although this service level was affected last week by the threat of a strike by Tanker Drivers resulting in us not being able to purchase diesel for 4 days. I have spoken to our Despatch Team regarding the grading (including sizing) of the plants we despatched and have concluded they did not complete all of the quality checks they should have undertaken. It is not unusual for evergreen Bare Root plants to loose some colour but this will soon start to flush back after planting providing you water the plants regularly and more quickly if you apply a feed as well. In recognition of the issues you have experienced with our service and assuming you have planted the Bare Roots I have arranged to despatch some Seaweed Fertiliser that you can apply to feed the plants and give them a boost. I was extremely disappointed to read your feedback and am sure you know we did not 'rip you off' as you have purchased plants from us before and would not have bought again, had you not been satisfied with the plants you previously received. Having investigated you complaint it would seem a member of our team in error picked your plants from our 'sick bay' where we place plants that are in need of some special care and attention. This mistake arose because we are in the process of re-developing our site and have moved some of our planting beds around. We would gladly have replaced the plants but I understand that you spoke to my colleague Karen and requested a full refund that has of course been issued to you. The roots of all Bare Root Plants do dry out quickly and before despatch we keep them 'heeled in' and 'dip' them in water before packing. These steps should have ensured the roots of the plants were moist when you received them however this clearly was not the case. Please continue to water the plants (every other day) as i would suggest there is a good chance they will survive. If the plants do not prosper please contact me in the next Bare Root season and I will arrangwe to send you replacements free of charge. Paul Shipley, Managing Director Best4Hedging Ltd
