I was pleased with the booking process etc, but when we complained about the problems with the property we rented we haven't had even an acknowledgement, let alone an explanation/apology.

Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately you responded to an automatically generated email and we did not see your correspondence.
All of our properties have welcome files that have several phone numbers in for contacting either the owner, the housekeeper or ourselves. If on arrival at a property you feel that there are some cleaning or maintenance issues it is very important that you notify one of these parties immediately so we can do our best to rectify the issues for you.
Whilst we appreciate all comments in our property's visitors book by doing this there is a risk that some important feedback will be missed, so thank you for also taking the time to fill in this form.
I have passed this feedback on to the owners to allow them to make any changes that are necessary.

I am sorry that you were disappointed with the property. I have passed your comments on to the owner of the property for them to make any changes as necessary.
Whilst we do ask that our guests leave the property in a good state when they leave, we certainly do not expect guests to do a full clean of the property. We would only withhold money from the good housekeeping deposit in extreme circumstances, and us having to do this is incredibly rare.
If you feel a property is not as clean as you would like when you arrive we ask that you call either the housekeepers, owners or our emergency number as soon as possible to give us the opportunity to rectify any issues.
