Note: Dispatches only between Mon-Thurs due to product refrigeration.

Delivery may take longer outside of these delivery days.

Charm Science Milk Antibiotic Test Kit: In just 3 minutes, the Charm MRLBL3 Beta-lactam Test can detect the presence of 13 primary beta-lactam drugs in milk at or below EU and CODEX maximum residue limits. The MRLBL3 is run by farmers, veterinarians, truck drivers, milk receiving, and milk testing laboratories because of its ease of use, portability, and minimal equipment requirements. Add the milk sample to the lateral flow test and incubate for three minutes.

The tests are easy to perform and are manufactured to test for US Safe Levels, EU MRL/ CODEX/ Customs Union maximum residue limits and multiple other country-specific requirements. Charm ROSA tests have been granted approval by regulatory authorities around the world. Use these strips in conjunction with the Charm Science 2-Place 3-Minute 56'C Incubator.

Includes Pipettes.

Incubator not included.

Performing Antibiotic Testing on Individual Cow Samples:

Antibiotic test kits are validated on raw commingled milk and are primarily used to screen bulk milk pick-up tankers. Testing cow samples can present a challenge for antibiotic tests if the milk sample is of poor quality, e.g., bloody, watery, colostrum, temperature abused, SCC 1 million/ml, DMC 1 million/ml.

Charm Sciences recommends the following best practices for testing individual cow samples:

1. Do not sample colostrum/foremilk1 and first stripping of milk for testing.

2. Composite milk from all 4 quarters.

3. Ensure milk samples are chilled to 7.0'C before testing.

4. Shake samples very well (Minimum 12 shakes over one-foot arc) just before testing.

5. If butterfat is 6.5% or milk does not flow2 through the strip to generate a Control line, the test is invalid.

6. Do not test if the milk sample is of poor quality, bloody, abnormal or is unable to be pipetted.

7. Avoid antibiotic contamination from hands, especially from antibiotic-containing topical treatments

8. Choose an appropriate test for the antibiotic used in treatment (e.g. MRLBL).

9. If cow sample reads a positive result, re-test in 24 hours.

The first milk stripped from the quarter will have a higher Somatic Cell Count (SCC).

Unique to ROSA Tests, is that each test strip contains a sponge that expands after milk is added. This augments line development and is a distinct advantage over other chromatographic based methods.
