Not happy with the kitchen top it was chipped at the edge and a little piece missing from the middle.

Massive overall of CS needed

Good morning 

Hi, as with any kind of measurement there would be a tolerance, 1mm is the smallest measurement you would find on any tape measure, as you have said hinges do have adjustment which can easily take this and more, when fitting any replacement doors you will usually need to make some adjustments, this could be also for tolerance in the hole on the carcass from the carcass manufacturer, or if they are to replace previous doors the hinges will have been previously adjusted to suit the tolerance in the old doors.
