In this edition of our Faces of Feefo series, we spoke to our Head of Technical Delivery, Steve Powell.
I’ve been working for Feefo for just over 4.5 years.
I’m excited to have taken up a new role earlier this year as Head of Technical Delivery, giving me oversight of the development, testing and release management of the Feefo platform. Additionally, my team of pre-sales and implementation consultants work jointly with our sales and customer success teams in the support of our enterprise clients at key points in their Feefo journey.
I am currently working with the team and wider business on a game-changing project to transition our development practices to Agile Scrum. This involves taking cross-sections of the teams spanning front and back-end developers, quality assurance engineers and scrum masters, each to work directly with a member of our product team in delivering the roadmaps of our product pillars. This will increase our speed to market for new product innovation and improve customer experience by delivering continual improvements to the Feefo platform.
In terms of a typical day - no two days are the same which is one of the reasons I enjoy working in the fast paced environment at Feefo.
I love travelling and working for Feefo has taken me to some interesting parts of the world, including China and Belarus. Also, from being a member of the charity committee, I’ve been honoured to visit a sand dam project we funded in Kenya and, as part of raising funds beforehand, travelled the UK as part of a team to undertake the Three Peaks Challenge (I couldn’t walk for days after!).
Feefo allows me to bring a big part of my personal life in to the office in the form of my pooch Lola. I enjoy walking/dragging her around the lovely Petersfield Heath at lunchtime and the rest of the time she can be found snoring under our Technical Director’s desk, much to his “annoyance”. Aside from travelling, I also enjoy socialising, cooking, going to the cinema and make frequent attempts to work off the Feefo snacks at the gym!
First and foremost getting to work with a fantastic bunch of hardworking, creative, fun people on a daily basis. I’ve been given lots of opportunity to grow professionally during my time at Feefo and, being a collaborative bunch, there’s lots of freedom and opportunity to get involved in various projects across the business to keep things interesting and challenging. Also, I love looking out of the window and seeing a field full of cows rather than rows of grey depressing office blocks - it’s a pretty special and unique location for an office.
