In this week's Faces of Feefo, we spoke to Steve Poulton, our Head of Inbound Sales.
Two and a half years.
On a typical day I come in nice and early to set up for the day ahead. I plan calls and get presentations together for meetings (both internal and external). I also manage the inbound sales team to ensure they are focussed on their activity and revenue, as well as liaise with Marketing to ensure the key messages of what brings success for leads and opportunities are shared.
Let me set the scene for you. I was a young chap walking down Commercial Road in Portsmouth just casually looking at suits in a shop. I wasn’t really in the market for buying, just browsing. I went into an independent suit shop and before I know it, I had a suit on and the salesperson was discussing tailoring. A few moments later, I walked out of the shop a few hundred pounds lighter!
The experience was the way I was sold to – I wasn’t pushed into it. They asked me some subtle questions and any objection I had was handled effectively. It was the first time I had really understood that I had been sold to; I am never one to rush into buying something, but this gentleman was an expert in his field. Maybe this was my first introduction into sales and I always smile when I walk past the shop!
I have a wife and two boys who I love spending time with. I love nothing more than walking my two labs, Elvis and Pele, and getting some good old fresh air. I love all sports, but especially football. I coach a kids under 12 team which fills me with so much pleasure (with a trickling of despair at times!).
I may sound cliché, but it’s the people that make Feefo. We make work fun, but everyone knows that there is also a job to be done. In addition to this, I love working in a relatively young company where you can be involved in making decisions about the future of the business.
