Herb - just reading this now - yes, you are correct, we added a rubberized finish to the 00200 Safety Cutter for a better grip - for the majority of our customers this has been an improvement, but for some applications it can create more friction - however, after a few uses, that rubberized area that contacts with the area you're cutting should become more slippery. We were thinking of offering a non-rubberized version as well for those customers that wanted a more "slippery" style of housing. You might want to try our Pen Cutter or Mini Cutter which has a longer blade, but the body doesn't touch what you're cutting. Thank you so much.
