What this means is that a tree grows naturally until its end of life, usually 10-20 years upwards, sacred trees can not be removed until they have rested on the forest floor for several years, the tree can only be harvested after dying a natural death. What is Palo Santo; Palo Santo incense sometimes known as Holy Wood incense; comes from the palo santo tree 'Busera graveolens'. The appearance can change depending on the time, method and part of the tree the incense came from and how it was dried. The desired effect will depend on the style and purpose by an individual. Typically the end is lit until it catches a lite deeply. It will burn black initially.
