Shakapa, Chakapa, Chacarpa or Huaira Sacha - Hand made and dried in the Amazon Jungle, by local tribes. These fans are traditionally used to remove and ward off spirits and cleanse the energetic field. Life expectancy of these are very hard to depict. Some being used for many years and others days. The Chakapa - Shakapa clearly represents the rich fertile feminine, abundant, moist jungle atmosphere with an aroma to remind us of its Mother Earth element. When using this ceremonial fan that is exactly the experience, allow the fan to work with you weather in ritual, energy clearing or simply placed on a sacred altar. The shamans call upon the spirit of the jungle using the chacapa to rub and rattle over or near the patient’s body while singing an icaro (medicine song). The leafs have travelled from the Amazon, from a moist environment so the structure does change and the leafs become dry as it leaves it's natural habitat.
