Peruvian Shaman archetype wachala /inner cloth otherwise known as an uncuna despacho or sacred cloth. These are handmade traditionally by the the shamans wife that live in Peru high in the Andes Mountains. Specially woven archetypes that represent the 4 directions are woven into the corners of the cloth with the eyes of protection around the edges. Traditionally hand spun, hand woven and hand dyed using 100% sheep's wool & natural dyes. This cloth we have had woven with archetypes into the four corners of the cloth with the eyes of protection around the edges. Four Directions is represented in different traditions. These are: South Serpent/Snake West Jaguar/Mountain Lion North Hummingbird East Eagle/Condor What is an inner cloth? An inner cloth is a sacred cloth. A cloth generally used by a spiritual holistic individual, or a shaman. The symbolic nature and use varies, from decoration to wrapping and holding sacred prayers and artefact's. Normally used as a centre piece or as a personal medicine bundle inner cloth, when using a larger outer cloth (mesa - mestana ) to wrap this. The significance is vast. A shaman would use these as a sacred altar cloth which holds their transformations, sacred objects and talisman within. Normally used with a mesa cloth and a mesa tie to wrap and hold everything safe as they go around a medicine wheel and journey through personal development with a sense of personal power, development and wisdom. Put inside a mesa cloth representing your inner world, while the mesa cloth represents your outer world. Also use for client work, placing on a chakra before working, creating a sacred altar to come too and as a despacho cloth. Despacho cloths vary in size, in our experience cloths used for a despacho are much bigger, ideally a mesa or an altar cloth. Approx size: 390mm 15.5" x 390mm 15.5".
