Hi Valli, 3500k is classified as warm white, however it is higher on the Kelvin Scale bordering on Natural White. Therefore, when turned on it will not have a traditional warm white glow but is closer to a neutral white. In relation to the U.S link provided there are varying classifications of sections of the Kelvin scale and as a result each will have a different interpretation. In Australia 2700K to 3500K is widely considered the range for Warm White. Even so, we use the information that is provided to us by the manufacturer and specify the Kelvin value in order for customers to make an informed decision. This means they can make their own interpretation as colour can be very difficult to describe and is incredibly subjective.  We hope this helps and are sorry to hear that you were not completely happy with the fans purchased.
