Thanks for your review. This is true and it done to make sure that the sealant holds the unit down at the ends which is the important bit. People generally push down too hard on the product and squeeze almost all the sealant out, so in this way some sealant stays and ensures a good solid connection to the bath. With over 5 Million sold like this it seems to work well. Enjoy your leak free showering.

Great product, instructions easy to follow, youtube guide was great help. Package arrived in terrible condition, assume handlers problem, but all parts ordered were still there & thankfully intact
