One Star is one too many. I ordered a summerhouse and assembly and was promised delivery would be arranged in conjunction with the assembly team. Not so, delivery arrived unannounced and deposited summerhouse pieces which sat in the rain until assembly team were able to come and assemble (one week later). Looked ok, but doors had an issue, Mercia offered to replace these. Customer service arranged for delivery of new doors but the fitter convinced us new doors were same as the old doors, so made some adjustments to existing doors instead. Within a couple of days the doors would not open at all. Mercia came again and replaced doors this time, and again 2 days later the doors would not open or close. At this point Mercia have walked away, saying the weatherproof coating I applied (Cuprinol shades – 6 year protection) was not waterproof and this was causing the problems – after 2 days! Applying waterproof protection on top of weatherproof is not effective, so Catch 22. Since then the doors have quickly bowed, panels moved and it is impossible to shut the doors. Quality of the wood is awful, the roof beams are clearly showing signs of rot (no leaks in roof so obviously this was rotten when fitted). Have asked for a refund and been ignored. Our landscape Gardner’s are shocked at the poor quality timber and poor customer service from Waltons/Mercia. I am happily adding photos. At the end of the day I have spent £1700 and got nothing, will have to get it removed before too long.
