We are sorry if you felt this was too intrusive.Whilst we did discuss a DMP with you, it was not our recommendation. As you are planning on releasing equity to clear your debts soon, we suggested that this wouldn’t be the right approach for you, especially as it would impact your credit history and make it harder for you to remortgage. (It is also worth saying that we provide free DMPs so it isn’t a question of ‘selling’ anything).As you can afford to make payments towards your debts, our recommendation was that you contact your creditors directly to explain your circumstances to them and agree lower payments in the short term until you can clear your debts. We sent you a self help pack to support you with this process.I hope that helps to clarify things.
