Google Update: Increase to the number of reviews needed to show Seller Ratings
Google’s latest update to Seller Ratings places more emphasis on response rate, which is good news for Feefo merchants.
As a licensed content partner of Google, we have been informed of their latest update – to show Seller Ratings within Google AdWords campaigns, you will now need to collect a minimum of 150 reviews. This threshold has been increased from 30 reviews.
Google have outlined the exact details on how you can achieve Seller Ratings here, but the important bits for anyone looking for Seller Ratings to appear are:
- Make sure you have at least 150 unique reviews from the past 12 months
- Reviews must have a composite rating of 3.5 stars or higher on Google Shopping
Why Are Seller Ratings Important?
Seller Ratings are an ad extension within AdWords campaigns, appearing as stars within your ads.
Google states that these stars can increase your Click through Rate (CTR) by an average of 17%. This can have a positive impact on your Quality Score, which can also help lower your Cost per Click (CPC).
