due to having a loan in 2007 we were still paying it back still in 2012 never heard anything from them found them very unhelpful and rude we ended up paying over £5000 for a £2500 loan this was only ment to be a 3 year but they never notified us at all

When I first started using this credit union in 2008, their service was excellent, despite a couple of mistakes of misspelling my surname on their cards which my local branch done their best to solve.

However, since changing premises of my local branch, their service has gone rapidly down hill, and still yet to implement online statements which I got told they was doing in 2010.

On 14 July 2012 I received a letter, basically stating that I haven't used the account for 6 months. It also stated that they wanted to apply an annual fee of £5, despite by their own rules that:

"If a period of 12 months passes without any transactions on the account of a Member (or on any of their accounts if they have one), the Board of Directors shall have the discretion to declare that the account has become dormant. The Board may take into account of any extenuating circumstances in making this declaration."

The letter was sent without a date and second class mail. If I wasn't disappointed with their service, I certainly am now and have closed my account. I feel sorry for the person that I spoke on the phone to as her reaction was just "oh" when I told her that I wanted to close my account.

Everything is great apart from if you need to phone them, it is really hard to get through they are either engaged or just dont answer in time before it goes back to the automated message

I have always found the staff to be friendly, polite and helpful. The only thing that would be nice is better online banking.

I needed to contact you recently and had difficulty getting someone to talk to o the telepphone, i tried the Portsmouth and Bordon offices. when i did get to speak to someone they asked if i could email with my queries and so i did this but dint get a response. I then rang the Portsmouth office again and my queires were answered.

I think United Savings&Loans is a fantastic service.. and such amazing staff.. so friendly and helpful.. and having this servuce is amazing it helps me in so many ways im so greatful to bank with United Savings&Loans with out this i would not have such an amazing bank and such amazing support.. and the loan service is amazing also.. So thank you very much :)
