Service rating : Attention to detail and our personal needs could not have been better. Suggestions made by Pura Aventura greatly added to our experienceProduct rating : The tour was varied, interesting and just right for us. Drivers and guides were knowledgeable, pleasant always on time. It was a wonderful experience.. Pura Aventura's personal knowledge of the countries and the different places to stay.made for a perfect holiday.
Service rating : Great set up and our first holiday w pura Loved the itinerary sent ahead of time with all the info we need. Seemed to have great contacts and relationships w community to make it a high quality trip.Product rating : Our Guide Alex was excellent, and the folks that ran the hotel Rexacu were great too. All in all a wonderful trip
Service rating : Ease of communication especially as I was already away traveling , it could have been tricky but was all good and questions answered as soon as possible etc. really good customer service. I went through David Orrock initially, was excellent!Product rating : All but one accommodation was excellent. Have already fed back which one was dates and not great for solo travelers but it did not impact on my trip, was still fine, just not as good as the other places. All else excellent! Would highly recommend Pura Aventura!
Service rating : Particularly liked the linking of the 4 separate parts of the experience - cloud forest, Amazon Napo, Amazon Nenkepere, Galapagos. All drivers and guides on time, courteous and knowledgeable. Hotels high standard. Appropriate info provided re tipping etc. Yacht Beluga high standard incl food (3 meals a day too much!) and the staff great fun including laying on whales and dolphins for the final 24 hrs!Product rating : See above, a great experience to be repeated. General impression of Ecuador was most positive with friendly helpful locals and v tasty guinea pig. The only downside was the undeniable presence of the oil companies in conflict with the preservation of the Amazon environment, including the native peoples - we should support the Amazonian tribes in protecting their lands and petition the Ecuadorian government to strictly curtail the oil companies explorations.
Service rating : Thomas was excellent putting an itinerary together for us for 12 days in Costa Rica. We gave him an outline of the kind of things we like to do and the kind of accommodation we prefer and the whole trip surpassed our expectations. He was extremely patient and flexible with us every time we communicated.Product rating : Costa Rica is a beautiful country. We wanted to visit both the rainforests and beaches, so we decided to do a driving holiday and left the planning to Thomas. We have 3 teenagers, so we upgraded the car to a larger 4 x 4 toyota which we were very happy about. We white water rafted into our first lodge - Pacquare - in the middle of the beautiful rainforest with very little electricity. It was pouring with rain initially and a little cold so we were so happy with the really hot solar powered showers. We went to bed by candlelight in beautiful rooms which had no glass on the windows - mosquito nets kept the bugs at bay and we felt like we were sleeping outside, and we woke to the sounds of the howler monkeys and wildlife. The food and staff here were incredible and the zip lining and kayaking so much fun. We had to white water raft for 26k to leave the lodge (our guide was very good and fun and the weather beautiful by now). We were quite tired by the afternoon when we picked up the car. Driving instructions were perfect and the next lodge we visited was Rio Celeste near the Arenal volcano - a beautiful haven, close to the turquoise (literally) Celelste river. We did a long hike on this day and relaxed in the evening by the pool. Our next and favorite stop for a few days was Luna Azul - a beautiful boutique hotel overlooking forests and close to beaches. Interestingly, we had been asking Thomas to try and get us into a different hotel which was already booked up because a friend had recommended it to us, but Thomas assured us that we would love Luna Azul, and he was right - it was actually better than the other hotel . We were very grateful for his insight. The owner, Rolf organized boat trips to swim with the turtles and again the food here was delicious. Last stop was Punta Islita, a beautiful resort with amazing surf. It was much more touristy and busy here but again the staff were great. The kids loved surfing and boogie boarding in the huge waves and zip lining, and the weather was sunny and hot. Overall, the staff, food, driving directions, activities, accommodation, guides, planning etc etc throughout the whole trip were really perfect and we will definitely be booking our next trip with Pura Aventura.
Service rating : I would highly recommend Pura Adventure. The trip was very well organized and they were very flexible and professional.Product rating : This was, far and away, the best trip I've ever taken. We walked between white-washed mountain villages on ancient roman paths and were provided with excellent, detailed directions. It couldn't have been better. Thank you!
Service rating : Pura Aventura always got back to very promptly; offering excellent advice and written information.Product rating : We spent almost 3 weeks in Costa Rica and were extremely impressed with the stunning and diverse landscape, flora and fauna. The trip was well organised from start to finish; it was useful having Costa Rican Trails as a point of contact, if required. You have sourced fabulous accomodation; throughout it was was first class; from a riverside lodge without electricy to a classy boutique hotel. There a just a few pieces of advice we would give to anyone else going on this trip. Pack accordingly [we did] as when it rains boy does it rain, even in the dry season. We were astounded how many people were purchasing what appeared to be plastic capes/jackets. When we left San Jose it was neccessary to leave our main case as luggage on the rafting trip was limited. We were assured the case would be in the hire car which we were due to collect 6 days later, and it was. It transpired we could have had the case put into storage by the Pacuare Lodge folk and had it back 2 days later. This is only an issue because the bags transported in 'dry bags' on the river did not remain 100% dry plus naively we thought that over the 5-6 days we would be able to dry items on the balcony'porch overnight. But of course in this environment that isn't the case and the fact it rained every day didn't help. This added to rather detracted from our adventure! It would be worth letting people know that if they opt for a third night at Evergreen Lodge, Tortuguero you are treated to some extra 'special' food. We didn't know this and having already eaten were surprised to be presented, by a beaming waiter, with a platter of grilled chicken. We politely tucked in and were prepared for further special treatment that evening at dinner. A 4WD is a must; ours was fine but having covered a fair few miles on the roads around Arenal and Ostional a higher spec car would possibly have been preferable. All in all a fantastic trip. Thank you.
Service rating : David was very patient as we changed our plans constantly for a few weeks before we finally put them all into place. Pura took care of every little detail for us and planned us a delightful vacation.Product rating : Andalucia is an undiscovered treasure. Wonderful place to take a hiking vacation. In Seville, Pura arranged for us to spend a day with Manny, an expert on all things Sevillian and a wonderful guide. He took us to hidden treasures, explained the culture of the city and was a please to be with all day. We also enjoyed a day with Blanca in Madrid, where she tailored our tour to accommodate our unique requirements. The walking tour through Andalusia was fantastic, too.
Service rating : It was well organised and well plannedProduct rating : we were away a whole month, so lots of room for error! Overall we were delighted with the choices and service. Our only criticism was that some of the guides were poor (late service and on one occasion, a speeding maniac) and we were disappointed (very) with our room at Explora-but lots to praise too!
Service rating : This was our fourth holiday with Pura Aventura and the service provided has been of consistently excellent quality. The advice provided on where to stay, activities available etc is extremely helpful and all of the flights, hotels, excursions, pick-ups etc have worked perfectly. Crucially for services provided locally, Pura also work with very reliable and efficient local travel companies. We had to make late changes to our flights and car hire due to a strike by Iberia Airlines but this was all handled efficiently and without any fuss by Sarah and her team.Product rating : A wonderful holiday! Tailor-made to suit what we wanted to do and the advice provided by Pura was excellent - all of the hotels suggested and areas to visit suited us perfectly. The suggestion to include Mallin Colorado in Aisen and to do the cruise from Punta Arenas to Ushaia was particularly appreciated!
Service rating : All arrangements were excellent with pick-ups, guides connections all on time and very courteousProduct rating : Too many highlights to summarise but San Rafael Glacier, Torres de Paine, Perito Moreno Glacier and Iguasu Falls being almost overwhelming in grandeur.
Service rating : very organised, really useful info pack and all trip as described. Quality accommodation as described. Great partnership companies, very impressed by all the arrangements and the staff in Nicaragua, would high recommend.Product rating : Brilliant tour guide in Nicaragua, best ever had. Support services in Nicaragua was so good, highly organised, on time etc, good transport and wonderful accommodation, which was also good in Costa Rica. Support pack for Costa Rica was accurate and useful and great little hire car. A Fantastic trip, which combined alot of elements, without feeling rushed. Very commerical in Costa Rica, with the power of the dollar very evident. Nicargua was a beautifl country, with lovely friendly people. Would go back in a heart beat.
Service rating : Brilliant organisation. Delivered even better service than advertised.Product rating : First full family ski holiday. We did not want separate ski schools so this really fitted fitted the bill. Terrific ski location in very unspoiled village. The slopes were clear of other skiers for the majority of the time which meant we all progressed quickly and safely with the almost personal guided tuition from Jamie and Anna.
Service rating : Our 3rd holiday with Pura, and they have all been of the same high standard. Truly active holidays in comfort.Product rating : Cerler is a perfect location for us. Enough variety of slopes in a beautiful area. Jaime and Ana are great teachers and provide a level of personal client service that you just don't get elsewhere. The village is friendly and unspoilt with unpretentious local restaurants serving delicious food. We can't imagine finding a better skiing experience elsewhere.
Fantastic holiday, great hotels, guides and organisation. Thanks!!
We can't imagine going anywhere else or with another company to ski. This is our 5th year in Cerler. The personal service both at the Pura office and at the resort with Jaime is second to none. Cerler is a beautiful, quiet and friendly place....we even now know a number of the restauranteurs who always give us a warm "welcome back". Huge steaks cooked on an open fire/grill, with delicious regional wines, just one of our favourite places. Probably not the best for vegetarians though. Each year we look forward to seeing both Jaime and Ana who are somehow succeeding in making us better skiiers !! This is the perfect family ski.....
Service rating : Very helpful and well organised. Everything ran really smoothly and just as planned. No problems and I would thoroughly recommend this company.Product rating : This was an individually planned holiday which started from a few suggestions by us. They added excellent highlights and matched the accommodation and the activities accurately to our requests. It was all high quality and ran like clockwork- it included 5 internal flights and many transfers. I would definitely highly recommend Pura Aventura.
Very good planning the trip. Poor resolving a problem that occured the last day of thevtrip.
individuals make the company, they are incredible!
Overall the holiday was good. Some parts were excellent (the hotel in Atacama) and trip on Stella Australis, the Lakes/Andes and Bariloche also. They found a couple of hotels I probably wouldn't have which were very enjoyable and different. A couple of my particular wishes did not come to fruition - one I believe the incorrect tour was booked by operators, the other I should probably been more insistent and gone with my instinct and not accepted other advice. Just means you need to be very specific with any particular desires. The lady in their office was very efficient.
I usually plan and arrange all my own travel, rarely if ever using travel agents. I contacted Pura Aventura to arrange a special Christmas and New Year holiday in Chile. Planning, communication, attention to detail, responsiveness, real experience of the areas we were travelling to, good local contacts, and an enjoyable sense of humour and reality were features of planning this trip. Every detail was meticulously planned and arranged and the trip went like clockwork. I have nothing but compliments for Pura Aventura and I am the world's skeptic of the value added of travel agents. Trust me, these guys are good!!
A very professional company. everyone was very helpful and patient especially when we kept changing our minds or asking questions i am sure they had already answered. i would recommend them to others without reservation. everything went went very smoothly over the four weeks we were travelling.
Excellent organisation of my holiday - great choice of hotels, clear information - a perfect blend of comfort and adventure.
Helpful, informed, professional. Ground contact numbers in Buenos Aires hard to get a response.
Service rating : Overall exceptionally great time on our honeymoon and we would and have recommened to others the use of Pura Aventura. We know we will. In more detail... The guides were excellent (Remota & Iguazu & El Calafate) Pick ups generally ontime. Food was great (eg Remota, Los Juncos) with the exception of the hotel in Peulla (during the lakes corss over) = poor Hotel quality all excellent/very good with the exception of: 1) the natura patagonio in Puerto Varas where although mostly very good service, there was no interest in fixing our blocked toilet for 6-7 hours despite several discussions/requests and the swimming pool was absolutely filthy. 2) Overnight hotel in Peulla = very poor in terms of food and filthy towels I only mention the above to ensure different establishments are chosen although regarding Peulla I appreciate how that might be difficult. Remota = AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Las Canteras = excellent (cleanliness, food, service, overall experience) El Calafate boutique hotel = excellent Las Canitas = very good overall Los Juncos = phenomenal! Sadly all flights were delayed by a variety of hours and even cancelled but this is obviously not Pura Aventura's fault although very frustrating for us. The reason for mentioning this is on a positive note Pura Aventura supported us very well throughout all these moments.Product rating : We could have never planned such a holiday so smoothly and so risk free so that all we had to focus on was having fun! Thanks guys!
