Hi, well you only give four rating options; I would have rated Print Lounge right in the middle, as "Average", which you should include as an option. I have very guardedly chosen to rate them as "Good". I would love to be able to rate them as "Excellent" however I had two problems in my dealings with Print Lounge that caused me some stress. Firstly, they delivered my order considerably later than I was initially told; this was no small thing, as these were my art pieces that were to be included in an art exhibit in central London. I suspect that my order would have been delivered even later but for the fact that I started calling them every day in a panic because I needed to immediately submit my work to the exhibit. I barely got my order in time, many days after it was promised to me. Reliability is very important. I will mention the second problem in the appropriate space below.

Acrylic Photo

I ordered three pieces from Print Lounge -- two fairly large acrylic photo pieces, and a brushed aluminium piece (I think they call it an "alloy box" or something to that effect). The aluminium piece was a big hit; the subject matter of my digital art was a perfect match for the medium of the brushed metal. It looked really stunning, and I ended up selling that art piece for 500 quid -- I believe my cost to Print Lounge was about 100 quid for that, so I made a very respectable profit. The only thing that was a problem is that one of the acrylic pieces had a colour that was slightly off: what should have been a bright primary red was more of a rust orange in the Print Lounge piece. I have checked it against my original digital art, and there is a distinct discrepancy in that colour range. For some folks, perhaps getting a family photo done, they may not notice or care, but for someone who is creating an art piece, it is absolutely crucial that there is some quality assurance done in Colour Correction. I cannot stress this enough. I had some large prints done at Tesco, of all places, and they had the colours exactly represented in that same graphic. Suffice to say, if your entire business is predicated on doing good prints, then it is paramount that you get the Colour Correction right. In short: had I not had those two aforementioned problems, I am positive that I would have already put in more orders with Print Lounge since then, but every time I think about it, I have second thoughts. To be perfectly honest, I do suspect that I may yet have more work done by Print Lounge, because the other two pieces came out really splendid, and I haven't been able to find any other printers who do the emulsifications on brushed aluminium. But it's just that I am already prejudiced, and I will worry that I will run into the same problems yet again. Well, you've asked for an honest opinion, and so that is what I have given you. Like I said, I only wish that I could rate them as "Excellent" because I would greatly prefer to see them be the consummate professionals, and do great work, and for me to have complete confidence in having them do more work for me. Cheers.
