31-May-2012	SHERPA Deluxe Electric Tiller Cultivator 1300w	I bought this cultivator to replace a broken Ryobi (engine-on-a-stick) cultivator, rather than replace the Ryobi. The Ryobi was forever jamming with small stones- hence the stripped gearbox, and was quite heavy on the back to use. The Sherpa by contrast is infinitely better. It manages small stones easily without a problem, produces a fine tilth down to 6-8 inches depth and is generally an easy and rewarding tool to use. Also easy to hose down the dirty bits after use. Being electric it has minor drawbacks- constant care as to where the cable is, and caution of overheating the motor. I have pushed it fairly hard and have had no indication of overheating yet - 1st season now over. Would I recommend it- certainly, would I buy again- certainly. Excellent value cultivator. 15-May-2012	SHERPA Deluxe Electric Tiller Cultivator 1300w	A smart,robust product.However it did not perform to expectations on initial testings.As explained in earlier email,it seemed happiest skipping across the top of the soil surface and gave no confidence that it would ever be able to operate at its stated optimum working depth of 26cms.I really wanted this to work but it proved so disappointing. Read more	Hi sorry to hear you were disappointed with the tiller. We have had great success with this model - it is our top seller and feedback has been excellent. Are you perhaps trying to use the machine on turf or grass, which it is not designed to do as this type of soil is heavily compacted. It is meant for soil that is "in use", such as veg plots, allotments, flowerbeds etc. As with all electric tillers (and most small petrol machines), you need to allow the machine to dig itself down by standing still to let it do its work. It may well bounce a little before it gets hold and then you should find it works well.

Upon opening it was found that the activating control was broken off the handle and the electric plug was distorted. Husband wanted a petrol one but I dug my toes in and opted for something lighter that I could use and start! with out waiting for his help. He thought an electric rotivator would not be able to cope with turning our large building plot wasteland into an area ready to sow grass.
