I was not expecting the shoes to be so rubbery ! I don't very much like the sole and heel. Perhaps I did not read the description in the catalogue carefully enough. Loake shoes have reputation and I feel that I have got a mediocre version

Nice shoes, but no advice about how best to maintain waxy uppers, and laces and eyelets could be better quality.
I am sure he will love them but until he opens the box on Christmas day I will not know for sure....

I thought the shoes would havebeen more substantial - as they look in the picture - so not quite what I thought I was buying. Also, would have helped if it had said they were Loake shoes.

What sort of polish should be used on the wax finish? no advise given in the box.

have used JT for many years but first time for buying shoes. Everything seems fine- prompt and quality seems good but time will tell.
Not quite the design I thought from the catalogue photo, but still acceptable.
A classic shoe design that is extremely comfortable and practical. Only one other comment I changed the laces from flat to round as the flat laces were constantly coming undone.
