Classic Trench Coat with Belt

Based on the other reviews, I went ahead and ordered a full size up (14) from my usual size (a small 12). I'm so glad I did! The coat fit perfectly. It's a fitted trench, so it shouldn't be wide at the bottom (it doesn't have a flared skirt). I appreciated the warm cuffs, but might have them removed later on. For now, they're a godsend when it's cold and rainy. The fabric is wonderful--soft, coated, and a gorgeous dark smoky color. It's sort of brownish grey. It is almost exactly as depicted on the screen, so they must have adjusted the photo based on one of the earlier reviews. It says the color is Khaki, but it is charcoal, as appears on the screen. I love the leather buttons and the pockets (which also have buttons--very useful for keeping your oyster cards safe during a journey!). The belt is great too, and attached to the back through a loop which is ingenious, because that way you won't lose it. You do have to tie it (I do a half-bow) a bit on the side, though, if you want to wear it like a classic trench, because of the way the belt is attached in the back. But I am in love with this warm and comfortable, beautifully made dark grey/taupe trench. It's a really good deal, now that it is on sale. You will also stand out, subtly, from the crowd of light khaki, A-line trenches. Great for spring and fall, and winter in some warmer climates.
