I've chosen 'good' but what I really wanted was an in between 'good' and 'poor' option. But since there isn't one.... I was contacted within half an hour of having visited the website and got an online quote for a building survey. The man on the phone was extremely polite and helpful etc etc... I later booked it and paid for it. Was then contacted by another man to give me a date for the survey. All good. Had to chase up the receipt for the payment, which was then emailed to me. Our estate agent phoned and it turned out she and I both had different dates for the survey! I was given one date and the estate agent another. So I had to phone to get this sorted. Turns out the date I was given was the incorrect one.... The surveyor's secretary emailed across some terms and conditions for us to read before the survey was carried out - we read them and had a few queries, so emailed her back. Didn't get a response in what we thought was enough time before the survey, so again had to contact Fridaysmove about this. They were helpful. I also received a call from the surveyor himself regarding the queries and he was helpful. I read and was also told that the surveyor would call me on the day of the survey (maybe while he was there at the property?) to run through key points... this did not happen. Perhaps as he'd already called me previously? A few days after the survey, I emailed the surveyor directly to ask roughly when the report would be ready. Two days on and after no reply to the email, I emailed Fridaysmove to see if they could get a reply. They forwarded the message to the surveyor's secretary, who replied to FM and they then sent me the reply! Found that whole thing to be unprofessional and inefficient. We had a few queries upon reading the (dare I say it, somewhat badly written/not proof-read) report, and I have to say that these queries were dealt with well by the surveyor himself and by someone else from his company. All in all, fairly happy with FM, and not overly impressed with the surveying company.
I have bought a number of houses in the past and used various surveyors. In terms of promptness and detail in the report, they rank amongst the better ones.
We procrastinated extending our lease for years thinking it would be more involved. As it was, Fridaysmove did everything from the valuation to the legal work and now we wish we had done it sooner. You live and learn.
As we bought at auction we had to complete in 28 days. We (foolishly) didn't have a conveyancer so we went with Fridaysmove as recommended by the auctioneer on the day of the auction. The solicitor moved very quickly and we completed within 28 days. We can only therefore recommend them.
they were very thorough and we will use them when we next move
Our experience of past surveys has been mixed. Some are a bare minimum affair loaded with caveats. Others are far more detailed. Happy to report that Fridaysmove were in the latter category, the report being very comprehensive.
we felt very well looked after and would recommend them to anyone
no complaints
Everyone we dealt with at the firm was both helpful and approachable. The move went very well which was a first for us!
The survey was very detailed - there were lots of photos.
We chose them on our purchase based on the recommendation of a friend who rated their efficiency. Our experience echoed this as we found them to be very quick. Sometimes things would stall a little but this was mostly down to the sellers solicitor going on holiday. When this happened Fridaymove pushed hard to get the seller to insist that they appoint another solicitor but their attempts were in vain and there was a 2 week stall. Fridaysmove did everything they could have done.
they were very helpful and used them for conveyancing and survey
No problems experienced.
The solicitor was good and I was particularly impressed at his availability over most of the Christmas period. We are now in our new home and very happy with it.
I went for the building survey as it is more detailed than the home buyer report and not actually that much dearer. They also threw in the valuation for free. The surveyor called to inform me of a couple of concerns whilst he was still at the house and I got the full survey a couple of days later. A very good service all in all.
good overall no major problems
purchase and sale were bundled together. very pleased with the service
very happy with the service
The survey was straightforward and easy to read and it came through the next day by email which helped us make a quick decision.
They are a good bunch, very organised, all sorted before xmas despite difficulties with getting a response from the sellers solicitor.
I wanted a local office so we could go in and see the solicitor. That is exactly what I got, although in the end I never met the solicitor as the sale all happened by email without a hitch. Still think its important to go with a solicitor you can actually meet though just in case you need to. So would definitely recommend Fridaysmove
All went through okay and the service was decent.
Although the survey was detailed and substantial, the report got to me a day later than promised so in this respect the service fell a little short.
staff was very helpful
Went for a building survey as property had a number of areas of concern. The building survey was only a few £s more than the standard survey and money well spent. Survey was thorough and emailed in 2 days. Was good to have the surveyor and solicitor co-ordinated.
