A wonderful place, a little piece of heaven, quiet, very clean. Friendly owners, a superb welcome basket and a perfect equipped kitchen. We hope to come back very soon. We and our dogs enjoyed the week we spend. Thank you again.
Easy website to use20-May-2013Lovely quiet property right on the doorstep to the Forest of Dean. Nice modern decor. Would definitely stay again.
Fantastic
We stayed as a group of 2 couples in this delightful property during the last weekend of February. This was the perfect option for 2 couples at the property is split into 2 floors, giving each couple their own dedicated floor to themselves with bathrooms. The Master bedroom is perfect, with ensuite shower room and views looking across over the forest. We found the property to be very comfortable and would definetly recommend to others! We did not even notice any neighbours or locals around us and the area is very quite even though located on a residential street. The kitchen was very well equipped and the dining room attached was very pleasant and we made good use of the facilities. The welcome hamper was also very much appreciated! A great and enjoyable stay and we made use of all the board games too!
Perfect accomodation for our girls weekend away. Property equipped to a very high standard, we enjoyed our stay very much. Many of the group left saying they`ll be back.
As Above
We stayed in Orchard Barn from 16th - 22nd of Feb 2013 and found the standard of accommodation excellent. The location was perfect; safe, private and very peaceful on the edge of the forest. The barn has been very tastefully converted, it still retains a rustic charm but the decor and furnishings add a real touch of luxury, with some very thoughtful touches like the slippers and robes, toiletries, beautiful welcome hamper, amazing eggs from Lynda and Geoff’s chickens, candles and wine. We have 2 small children and the stair gate, booster seat, travel cot, plastic crockery and children’s cutlery were an unexpected but very welcome bonus too. The was lots to do for families with young children in the area, highlights for us included Dean Heritage Centre (particularly the Gruffalo trail), Clearwell Caves, Puzzlewood, Perrygrove, Dean Heritage Railway, and Symonds Yat, not to mention the forest with plenty of walks and family friendly cycle routes. All in all a great holiday and we would definitely recommend the cottages.
I spent a wonderful holiday at Forest Barn Holidays. The location is fantastic and I enjoyed the very well furnished barn from the very first moment thanks to an exceptionally warm welcome. Highly recommended place. My only remark would concern the freezer which is quite noisy.
I was highly impressed with Forest Barn Holidays, they genuinely care about their guests and go out of their way to provide an excellent service. The accommodation was beautifully appointed and really well equipped, especially in the kitchen, but it was all the little touches that made it a very special place to stay. The complimentary food basket was an absolute delight and filled with lots of local goodies which were really delicious. They've put a lot of thought into this whole set up and it shows. I would highly recommend staying with Forest Barn Holidays.
The website was easy to use and booking our break was simple. The Brambles was perfect for the two of us and had everything we needed and then some. We look forward to booking our next break in the summer with Forest Barn Holidays.
Lovely stay, fantastic place, really high standard of decoration and facilities. Geoff & Lynda were lovely and happy to reccomend local restaurants. Loads to do around the area so you won't get bored with / without kids. Only suggestion for improvement would be a sign at the bottom of the hill to indeicate where to turn off for the cottages, it''s not easy to find first time. Great holiday, am sure we will be back.
Reception was excellent, welcome basket out of this world, the perfect place for a relaxing few days!
Lovely cottage in great location. Very friendly and helpful owner. All we needed for a great week-end break.
Brilliant. Lovely accommodation and everything needed is provided by Lynda and Geoff. Nice peaceful break. I would highly recommend.
Had a very enjoyable stay with wonderful walks in the woods and some very good food. Knocked on your door on Saturday morning to say goodbye but no one about. Many thanks09-Sep-2012extremely comfortable and peaceful week. Welcome hamper a lovely surprise.
Lovely days in a very tasteful buildt an furnished place
First class accommodation with a warm welcome, with everything pretty much as described on the website. Very tranquil setting. An enjoyable and very relaxing holiday in the heart of the forest.!
Spent a week at Forest Barn and generally impressed. The 'welcome hamper' was appreciated and well stocked. Taking up previous feedback from other reviews, we thought the FAQ's list was both informative and helpful. The dishwasher did prove a little ineffective with several dirty bowls found at the bottom of the stack in the cupboard - hand washing was more reliable but not a problem. Unfortunately, not being dog owners ourselves, we were somewhat disappointed to be able to detect the aroma of the previous week's canine guests in the settee cushions! Great location with very easy access to The Forest of Dean.
Great service and welcome from Lynda and Geoff with a very generous welcome basket of goodies. The barn is beautiful, one of the best we've stayed in during many years of holidaying this way. The barn is beautifully appointed, perfectly equipped and immaculately maintained. We travel with three large dogs and they were equally welcomed without any fussing about their management. The position of the barn is perfect for walking from the doorstep, is in a peaceful setting and gives easy access to places of interest. We loved it.
Lovely place to stay,Linda and her husband were very helpful and informative. The Barn was very well equiped, comfortable beds and the local produce was great. One negative the dishwasher did not clean very well and was a bit smelly. However would diffinatley recommend and stay again. Fantastic location to explore The Forest of Dean .
We stayed in moorhens, which is on a quiet housing complex close to the lake at Newent. The bungalow was immaculate and in excellent decorative order and furnished beautifully. The beds were extremely fresh and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for Lynda, and requests for blankets and fans (as it was an extremely hot and humid period when we visited) was rapidly dealt with.
Extremely friendly and helpful owners, really nice people that obviously do this because they enjoy it and care about their guests rather than simply a means of making an income. The welcome basket was awesome, showing they'd really taken the time and trouble to source the best and most delightful products for guests. Meadow Byre itself was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable and well equipped - in fact it was so well equipped, especially in the kitchen department, that it was difficult to find space for our groceries at first! We loved the extra touch of the wine cooler, too. Beds were comfortable and the showers were brilliant. We loved all the green energy stuff, too. To summarise - lots of little extra touches which made this holiday stand out above the rest, but then we did pay a little extra for it and it didn't disappoint.
We loved the barn, excellent location. It definitely deserves it's 5 star rating. Many thanks for the welcome pack, full of local produce. Would recommend without hesitation.
A very belated thank you for our lovely stay at Chapel Court. We had the most relaxing and enjoyable time that we could possibly wish for. We ended up making a very rushed exit in order to catch the Eurostar from London, and so didn’t say goodbye and thanks. So, thank you for your help and the beautiful accommodation, and we hope to be back in the not too distant future.
Nice stay in Brambles. Welcome hamper is a nice touch. Good location for exploring the Cotswolds.
