The service was good but the order was sent to Switzerland so I called to ask the VAT to be deducted from the invoice and was told it would be done. When I received the goods the invoice showed the full price. When I called to complain, the VAT was credited to my card which is a good thing. However the tax in Switzerland was calculated on the full price. It was a shame. The invoice that comes with the goods must show the price without the VAT which is the correct thing but also allow Swiss tax to be charged on the value of the goods (without UK VAT),
Service rating : I placed my order and received an acknowledgement. I was waiting for an e-mail to tell me it had arrived at the collection place but after a week had heard nothing. I phoned WC to be told that I didn't need this and my parcel was waiting for me to collect. My query was dealt with very satisfactorily but if I'd known the system had changed I could have had my parcel days earlier. Therefore, not excellent as I'm used to but still good.Product: I bought the larger version of this lamp some time ago and was slightly disappointed to find that the smaller version I've just bought had a different coloured shade, more grey than my first purchase. I still like the new one but it doesn't quite match the larger version.
Service rating : Placing the order with The White Company was fine, however I was very disappointed in the delivery service. Whilst I did track my order at no time was I told which day it would arrive. Out when it arrived and the parcel was thrown over a 6ft high gate onto our drive. The parcel had two fragile labels on it. Also, the delivery company stated that they had placed it in an outside building - not so. Thank goodness it was a fairly dry day.Product: These are a gift, so I have had no feedback yet.
Service rating : I have marked the white company down only because of Hermes. They leave my parcels in my black rubbish bin with all the trash. If that's not bad enough, occasionally I have got home from work to see a large box right on my doorstep. ( I live in a terraced house ) anyone could walk past and pinch it. I have nothing good to say about Hermes.Product: They burn really well. The best.
Service rating : On ordering the mirror it stated 3-5 day delivery, after chasing I was informed it was a 3 week delivery. So if I knew this at time of the order it would have been excellent and not good. I had to chase this order several times as the email stated there was a link to track delivery, but there was no link, which was irritating.Product: The mirror is fabulous and we love the quality, but we expected it to have fixings with it, especially as it is a very heavy mirror, we spent days trying to find the right fixing to take the weight. I think many people would struggle to hang this without expert help dye to not supplying instructions.
Service rating : Using Hermes as a carrier lets The White Company down. Other companies use DPD For free delivery but they insist on using Hermes in an attempt to make you pay for delivery with DPD. I received two orders from Ugg before I received my White Company order and they were placed days afterwards. Customer services never ring you back or keep you updated with emails. It's a real shame and does put you off ordering from them.Product: Far too large, it was like a sack.
Service rating : Incredibly fast and efficient service from order to door.
Also just for your information; Not on this order but for another I tried to send a present to a friend in South Africa. Unfortunately the clearance / duty was more expensive than the product.Product: Good cut & quality although different fabric from the one ordered previously.
I would consider the online shopping service as good. Could improve the returns functionality (in comparison to an OUTNET like service). I've also received a number of items damaged (one planter completely shattered). I'm not sure if this packaging in the factory, or the delivery driver, but often the white company boxes arrive slightly beaten up
Service rating : It was only by chance that the Hermes delivery chap was very helpful otherwise, as a working person, my delivery would have been returned undelivered. Being able to book delivery slots would be more helpful. As would smaller packaging!Product: The product came with 8 reeds and said it would last up to 3 months. I've been using 4 reed, only getting a faint scent and will be lucky if it lasts 2. The smell, though, is gorgeous.
Service rating : These arrived very quickly, were packaged beautifully and in a very attractive and sensible box which could be opened in seconds rather than attacking it with carving knife and scissors as I so often have to do with mail order packages!!Product: Lovely quality and a much better "white" colour than many other white sheets I have bought.
Great services from white company, the only negative if me using the online shopping is choice of courier (HERMES) they never attempt to knock on neighbours to taken in parcel even when neighbour works from home , they leave card with mobile number on you call to make date suitable for redelivery and they never answer nor call back.
Service rating : After order wasn't delivered because lost in transit I had an immediate reply to my email and then further replies twice on a Sunday with goods then delivered at no extra cost the following day. Amazing, personalised customer service !Product: Not quite the ones I wanted as these had sold out but will be very comfortable for my sister for whom they are a gift.
Service rating : I ordered two jumpers in slightly different styles size 14. One was too big so I had to send back for the smaller size. I was not happy about having to pay postage. I also missed out on the 15% discount !Product: Really liked it but returned as too big, I hope to receive the smaller size but I see on line it is out of stock !!!
Unfortunately, my house name was omitted from the address and I caught the courier just in time delivering my parcel next door - my road is 'Fairfield Rd' and the house next door is 'Fairfield'. I live at Burnham House - I could have lost the parcel or at the very least suffered a delay.
I paid extra for Saturday delivery, as I was desperate for them over Easter, but had a message from the delivery company to say that they were due to deliver on Saturday but that you hadn't got the stuff to them yet so were unable to. Therefore, it didn't arrive until Tuesday....

Service rating : ordered my purchases on a Friday afternoon and it was only standard delivery and they arrived Saturday morning! Was indeed very impressed. Came quicker than next day delivery!Product: so soft and such a comfortable fit. Will defiantly be ordering more!!

Service rating : I had a problem with a missed delivery that wasn't entirely the company's fault but it frustrated me never the less as I had paid a lot for the next day delivery.Product: This one was bought as a gift for someone because I have one already and I thought they would appreciate it. Smells lovely and lasts a long time compared to other diffusers I have had before.
Service rating : Item arrived within a few days as expected, however Hermes seem to have stopped sending a message to alert you to delivery and it was just chance I was in.Product: Flattering, stylish design & the wool is medium weight, not too fine. Unfortunately it does bobble rather a lot. Suggest sizing down, it's very generous!

On the website the information led me to believe that this would be available for standard delivery. It wasn't until after I had placed the order I found that it could take up to 3 weeks to be delivered. This left me really disappointed.

Charging people extra to have weekend delivery is absurd when your customers are clearly working people. I understand there is a delivery company in between. But they were also very unreliable re time slots so you are forced to opt to pay.
