Great time, great place, great service!
Quiet and peaceful location. Lots of places of interest within easy reach and some good walks. The accommodation was comfortable, clean and well equipped. Lynda and Geoff made us very welcome with a nice basket of goodies upon arrival. You definitely need to book up and enjoy the experience.
Booking process was easy and Lynda was very helpful before our stay. The house was a little hard to find but it was lovely staying away from everything, the only noise was from the sheep! The house itself is beautiful, cleaned to high standards and very well furnished. There was a useful folder with instructions on just about everything you could think of. Rooms were all a decent size with lots of storage and perfect for eight people. Lynda and Geoff were very friendly every time we spoke, on the phone or in person. A lovely stay and I would highly recommend the place and people.
Lovely accommodation, just a few little things like the bathroom door in the en suite not locking/ shutting properly and being recommended to go somewhere that was only open at weekends (there were only weekdays left when I asked), so we turned up and it was shut. However. the garden attached to the cottage was lovely - we sat and had picnics, looking at the beautiful view. The kids loved the play area on the main lawn too. It was beautiful and peaceful, and we would go again.
Lynda was so helpful, kind and cheerful, from my initial enquiry to the farewell on our departure. Orchard Barn was beautiful, catered for our every need, and all the little welcoming touches were so appreciated.
Definitely hope to return in the future, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
Very friendly and welcoming and such a lovely little place to stay-the Brambles. We had a lovely time.
We had an excellent holiday - a fabulous property in beautiful countryside and we very much hope to return in the future.
pew corner was a great place to stay everything you needed would come again next time for a weeks break.
A very enjoyable stay lovely surroundings Linda and Geoff made us very welcome and we would recommend it
All worked smoothly apart from payment being requested even after the payment had been made. After making the payment for the second time the redundant second payment (identified quickly and acted on) was quickly returned to me.
After 5 days in London our family moved into the Stables at Forest Barn Holidays for a much anticipated respite. What a beautiful, tranquil, and rejuvenating experience! After the hectic days in London this setting was just what the family needed. Bleating sheep, beautiful landscapes, a quiet place to read and reflect, and the warm generosity of our gracious hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return.
Stayed at the beautiful Brambles cottage with two young children (2 & 4 years old) In May 2014. Excellent accommodation with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The gardens, playroom and play areas are brilliant for young kids with great walks through the forest and fields at your doorstep. The location is a perfect base for exploring the wider area with Littledean and Blakeney villages within a few minutes drive and the bigger towns/cities easily accessible. Great activities (too many to list) in the surrounding forest area for all ages. Thanks to Lynda and Geoff for looking after us and we will definitely stay at Forest Barn Holidays next time. 5 stars all round.
We stayed in Orchard Barn with x2 8 year olds and x1 5 year old. They were captivated by the games room, play area, boules lawn, rabbits and sheep. We were delighted by the well laid out barn, beautiful linen, comfortable beds, welcome basket of local produce, log burner and the overall cleanliness and attention to detail. Having pristine towels, robes, and slippers provided saved a lot of space in our suitcases and having access to a washing machine and dryer was wonderful as we did encounter some rain during our stay.
There are woodland walks, pond dipping and a shop (3 minute drive) in the immediate vicinity and off road family cycle rides, caves, mazes and National Trust gardens within 15-20 minutes. It's a peaceful retreat that is a great base for exploring the Forest of Dean, Symonds Yat and day trips to Slimbridge, the Costwolds and Wales.
We will definitley be back for another visit.
Lovely property a real home from home, clean, comfortable, glamorous well thought out décor and touches to make the stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
Very well equiped and maintained accomodation charming and helpful owners. Idylic setting
Our party stayed in the farmhouse this weekend. We forgot to sign the visitors book so I am sending this instead!
We had the most fabulous stay in your beautiful house. We have stayed in a number of holiday homes and this was something special. The attention to detail and level of comfort was superb. It was very hard to leave yesterday.
We look forward very much to returning. If you could organise the weather again too that would be perfect!
Thank you very much for a wonderfully memorable stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the bungalow. It is in a superb location for getting to places of interest. My husband who is disabled found it a little bit difficult to manage in the bathroom. We just felt that it would help if there had been a few more substantial grabrails. The frame provided tended to tip when you put any weight on it. Otherwise we managed well. Please forward our thanks to Lynda and Norman . Pat and John Stowell. P.S. The hamper provided was greatly appreciated.
Dear Lynda and Geoff
Thank you so much for the lovely stay at Orchard Barn.
The welcome basket was a very nice touch and very much appreciated.
The barn had everything you could have wished for; very clean and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in (would of liked to have taken it home with me)
many thanks once again.
Catherine and David Lee from Oxford.
Orchard Barn is a lovely property - very well equipped, everything to a high standard.
Towels/bedlinen and welcome hamper all very good quality.
The owners were very helpful - but totally unobtrusive if you just wanted to enjoy your break! Equally, although there are other properties on site, no-one is overlooked at all - very well designed and private.
Any small problems were quickly and efficiently dealt with - our only other feedback is that office/games room opening times would have been helpful?
We booked at quite late notice & from the onset Lynda was a pleasure to deal with.
Met us at Pew Corner even though we arrived late & passed on a lot of useful information for places to visit with our children (11 & 9).
The accommodation is really nice. Comfortable, warm, clean & fresh. The large Church windows & mezzanine Lounge really add character. The welcome hamper on arrival is a lovely touch.
If you are looking for a break that has luxury & comfort but with a plethora of outdoor activities to tire the children out, you will struggle to find anywhere better.
Our only regret was not having a longer holiday & we will definitely be returning,
Hi there. Just a note to Geoff and Lynda and all to say what a lovely weekend we had at the farmhouse. It was so lovely to have all we needed in one place, lots of outside space, to just relax n catch up with our friends. The weather helped of course! Will keep your details and be sure to return and recommend. Thanks.
Very friendly. Answered all our queries promptly and helpfully14-Apr-2014The accommodation was very comfortable and tastefully furnished. The welcome hamper was very generous. We had a lot of fun playing table tennis and loved the surroundings watching the little lambs playing. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, (although we didn't find a tray or a ladle). I think it is good that they provide a recycling for all the waste.
Excellent quality accommodation, with everything you could possibly want to ensure a restful stay, located conveniently for travelling to other destinations, no shortage of pubs/ restaurants.
Barn was v.comfortable and well equipped and warm. Beds v.good, powerful shower and toiletry items plentiful.Very peaceful and ideal for relaxing. Strongly recommend.
